Computer Forensics DegreeĀ

Taking up a computer forensics degree today can be a step to a very promising and lucrative career. Statistics have shown that  cases of cybercrime have been on a rise lately. Japan alone has registered an alarming 15.5% year-on-year growth on such cases. And that report only covers the reported ones.

If the global financial crisis does not take a turn for the better soon, more instances of cybercrimes are expected. As more people turn to the Web for jobs, more personal information are revealed online. This easily attracts cyber criminals who can make a killing through identity thefts. The increasing number of desperate individuals online can also draw in fraudsters.

Because of these conditions, there is a growing demand for specialists who can counter these attacks. At the very least, specialists should have completed a computer forensics degree for them to be effective against criminals who are highly-motivated by the thought of hitting it big through these illegal activities.

Graduates of computer forensics degrees are expected to earn between $85,000 to $160,000 (USD) annually. In Asia, computer forensics degree programs are offered in a few academic institutions such as the Asian School of Cyber Laws in India and the Singapore Institute of Management in Singapore.
